The more I use Google and it's features, the more I love it. I'm an avid user of Reader, Docs, Calendar, and Notebook. I only more recently starting using iGoogle as my homepage. At first, I didn't want to use it because I couldn't get exactly what I wanted to show in the exact way that I wanted. I'd still like to be able to resize my Reader pane, but for now this works.

The biggest hurdle for me was finding a way to add my Calendar to iGoogle in a usable way. I like to see my agenda for the next few days with all my scheduled appointments handy. I used to have to open it in a new tab each time, which made it less likely for me to use it. But thanks to a little sleuthing I was able to come up with a method of adding it to my page just how I like it.

Disclaimer: I found these instructions on the web and tweaked them for a clearer understanding.

1. Add this gadget to iGoogle.

2. Go to your Google Calendar and click edit "Calendar Settings" on your main calendar. To do this, you'll need to go to "My Calendars" on the left side. Click on the arrow next to your calendar.

3. About half way down, under "Embed this calendar" click "Customize the color, size..."

4. The following settings are useful if you use three columns for iGoogle:

a. Uncheck "Title" and "Tabs"
b. Change Default View to "Agenda"
c. Change width to "350", height to "250"
d. Check all the calendars that you have available, this will allow you pick the ones you want to look at on iGoogle
e. Copy the HTML code

5. Go to your iGoogle homepage and click "Edit HTML" inside the new gadget you added in step 1.

6. Replace the break tag (br) with the HTML that you copied from step 4.

7. Click Save and you're done. (Optionally you can click the down arrow and click edit settings to change the Title of the Gadget)
