So Wrong It Has To Be Right

At 1:38 AM on Thursday morning I got an email from my friend Elisha. We all know she should have been in bed at that point, but bless her little heart for thinking to send me a link. She probably has no idea what she's done. Let's all thank her together now shall we?

Because of the language on the link, I've decided not to post the actual link here but rather repost the image that intrigued me most. I think if you did some fancy Googling, you'd probably find the original website. I'm saying this so that everyone knows that I'm not stealing content for reasons such as wanting to promote this as my own original idea. I will say that it was my idea to go a different direction.

One of the beautiful things about having tiny dogs is that you can dress them in tiny clothes. C'mon, you may be rolling your eyes now but we all know that you'd do it too. So this great link that Elisha sent showed how to make a sweater and hat set for your dog out of a sock.

The little cogs in my brain started churning and I just had to give this a try. I decided to head over to the Dollar Tree after work and I bought two pair of Halloween socks. Total $2.12 after taxes.

Two of My Many Cutie PiesThis morning I allowed -Gavin to watch explaining that he was never ever ever allowed to cut up a sock without our direct supervision but here I go snip snip snip! He watched in awe as I first cut the toe of the sock, then the heel. I picked up -Barley and had him hold her gently while we tried on our little invention.

It wasn't long before -Logan showed up and wanted to participate. -Barley didn't like this hat business.

Do You See What They Are Doing? They Are Going To Put That Hat On Me!

She actually didn't really mind wearing it, and she really loved the "sweater" part of it since it keeps her warm during these chilly fall mornings. I did cut the sock differently than the directions because I thought it would fit -Barley better this way - seeing as how she's still a whopping 2 pounds. But I accidentally cut the ear slots too big so the hat wouldn't stay on. The good news is, I have two socks. For a dollar!

Barley Loves Her Costume

I had already discussed this Halloween costume thing with my other multi-Hua owning friend, Lisa, and we agreed to keep our costumes a surprise. I told her I was horrible with surprises and I would probably end up telling her the day I bought the costumes. As you can all see I still have a month to go and I'm already showing her our costume! :) Although I will try not to show you -Lucy's costume... of course I can't make any promises there either.

If you'd like to make your own tiny sweater and hat set out of a sock, you can follow this diagram as I (sorta) did:

Make A Hua Sweater/Hat Set

You are required to photograph your creation and send it to me asap. I'm a sucker for all this cuteness. :D

Holy cow! That is so awesome. I wish my dogs (and my husband) would allow me to dress them in Halloween costumes
