For the past week or more it's been cold. So cold that my wet hair froze when I went outside to start the car last Wednesday. It had occurred to me a while back that everyone else around me had toasty hands from the mittens I'd knit them, warm necks from the scarves I whipped up, and cozy heads wrapped in my hand-knit hats. Meanwhile I've yet to knit anything that would give me such comfort in the cold.

Yes, I have things from a few winters ago. Yes, I could go buy some gloves and a hat. Of course as all knitters know, you don't buy these things when you have a stash of beautiful wool and needles waiting for you. That's why I jumped on board with the Clapotis KAL that we did at Knit Together. Other than the minor mishap with my yarn calculations, this thing practically knit itself. No wonder it's so popular.

I finished mine up last night while watching Ruth (I really love that movie) and trying to rest with the cold I've contracted. I soaked it in the kitchen sink with some of the lovely SOAK wash that -Tammy gave me for Christmas and then hung it to dry. When wrapped around my neck, it hangs to my knees. Now that's a nice scarf.

Too bad it's about 60 degrees outside right now and a scarf is totally unnecessary.

Up next for me is Oblique for my mom. I started it and then put it down to knit a few other things (like aforementioned personal winter wear) and I think it's time to get moving on it.
