Today it's is raining cats and dogs outside. A much welcome sight for most of us after several days of 100 degree weather. I'm pretty sure that our small town is on the verge of floating away having nearly 10 inches of rainfall in the last few hours. One of our neighboring buildings was struck by lightening leaving several blocks without power. [Flashback to the Ice Storm] Most are back up and running again, though lacking internet. Our building is amazingly unscathed. The Lord loves the good works we're doing in Africa and doesn't want to slow us down for a moment. :)
I just got word that the highway to our house is now closed due to flooding. Apparently one of the creeks is up by 21 feet. Good thing I drove my Ark to work today.
On Friday I came home from work to find that our air conditioner was busted. The temperature outside was only 99 degrees and steadily dropping due to the pending rain that didn't erupt until yesterday. Luckily my small town connections paid off and we were able to get a friend of a friends dad to come out and fix it the next morning before it got too hot. We kept some fans blowing throughout the house during the evening and it's made it actually chilly at night; something that all good sleeps are made of.
Here is the Monday Mosaic which will probably brighten any day, though I did pick several black and white photos this go-round. Something about them really spoke to me last week. Fav's among Fav's: # 5, # 13, # 17
