Well it’s been another long period in between blog posts. I really have every intention of blogging nearly every day. Really I do. I walk around thinking about things to blog about or what cute photo of my animals I can beam about or what amazing thing one of my children has done that will blow your mind. I have every intention of writing about all of it when I sit down at my keyboard but the problem is; I never sit down at my keyboard.
When I’m at home I get to enjoy the kids, make dinner, clean up, and get everyone ready for bed and the next day. Those precious few hours with the family are far more important than anything else. So I will continue to memorize every funny thing said, every cute laugh that is laughed, every sweet hug and “I love you” that the day brings and eventually… eventually I’ll get around to writing about it which will even further cement it in my mind.
I've titled this entry 101 because this is the 101st entry on this site. I had previously blogged hundreds or thousands of posts between my now retired photoblogs and this one. But now that I've revamped a few things and restructured this site, I'm happy to see I'm still at least breaking a hundred again. So here we go...
A few weeks ago I wanted to tell you the funny conversation we heard from the back seat on a car ride. I may not have remembered it so well if it weren't so great:
"Knock, knock.""Sorry, I already get the paper."
"Knock, knock."
"No, I do not want to buy any Girl Scout cookies."
"Knock, knock."
"No, I will not vote for you, I’m not even old enough to vote for you!"
"Knock, knock."
"No, I do not want a bigger better vacuum cleaner."
"Knock, knock."
"Sorry, I don’t wear Avon."
"Knock, knock."
"Thanks, but I’ve already heard the Good News."
I really had a great laugh at that conversation. I didn’t even realize that our kids knew of door-to-door sales people much less about door to door Mormons.
Something else I wanted to blog about but never did was the Marshfield Fiber Fair. Whoa boy was that a great day. We took Lucy with us because she really needs to socialize a bit and who better to socialize with than knitters, spinners, and livestock? She met a very cute two-day old lamb whom we did not buy despite what you all thought about my obsession over yarns. :) Granted he was a cute little guy.
We met up with Tammy shortly after we arrived and we oohed and ahhed over the fiber to be had. We both ended up going our own ways and purchasing a drop spindle and some fiber to learn to spin with. I purchased an Ashford Drop Spindle, the made my way over to the Spindle and Wheel booth where Lucy met the famous springy lamb.
He didn't like her trying to get into his pen so he kept trying to head butt her out. She was too quick for him and luckily never got clocked.
Our youngest wanted to get her hair cut and had been asking us for months. She really truly wanted to donate her hair to Locks of Love and even more so after she saw that I had done the same. It's pretty hard to be selfish and keep her from doing something so terrific and for a good cause so our whole family went and watched her get her hair cut.
She had well over 14" that she could have donated, but since the requirement was 10" we met in the middle and had them take 12. The stylist braided it into a neat braid and then cut it off and gave it to Haley. She grinned so big that it melted my heart and sent it running out my toes probably like this photo just did to you! <3 She's been drawing pictures for the "girl" who will get her hair and when she is done with the drawings, we'll snap a Polaroid and send it off.
So as you can see, things have been pretty exciting and busy around here. There's more to tell but then again, less time for me to tell it!
