But The Greatest Of These Is Love

Faith, hope, and love are three musts for all Christians. Lets discuss what hope means for us all.

1 Corinthians 13:13 says, "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." You might wonder what is the difference is between faith and hope.

ESV Journaling BibleFaith is a belief, hope is an expectation. Hope is an anchor, it defines us. It is a purifier. It is an encourager. Let scripture build hope within you (Romans 15:4). Let Christ's living hope work through us (Romans 4:18 and 1 Peter 1:3).

What brings you hope?

I've been doing a study on Hope over the past year, looking up the scriptures, listening to good preaching on it, and I've learned that Hope is linked to imagination. If you can imagine it, you can hope for it. The imaginary play that little kids do is actually a "God thing", and we shouldn't stop doing it as adults (but perhaps in a more adult way...if you see me on the floor playing with my barbies, you can call the men with the white suits...) ;-) Now, the exciting thing is that Faith is the substance of things Hoped for (Heb. 11:1). Isn't it exciting that God can instill hopes and dreams in you, and then give it a way to come to pass! =D
